At Defensive Edge Training Group, our mission is to provide professional, practical firearms training that empowers responsible citizens through education, confidence, and real-world skills.

Dakota Lehman is a USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor with a background rooted in military service and law enforcement. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive experience in firearm safety, defensive principles, decision-making under pressure, and the importance of responsible firearm ownership.

His passion for teaching comes from a simple belief: quality training saves lives. Whether you’re handling a firearm for the very first time or pursuing your Michigan Concealed Pistol License, Dakota is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and professional learning environment where every student feels comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.

As an instructor, Dakota understands that no two students learn the same way. His goal is to meet each individual at their current experience level, providing patient, hands-on instruction that builds confidence while emphasizing safety, sound judgment, and responsible decision-making.

Every course is designed to go beyond simply meeting training requirements. Students leave with practical knowledge, increased confidence, and the skills needed to responsibly own, carry, and handle a firearm in everyday life.

Whether you’re taking your first Firearm Basics course, earning your Michigan Concealed Pistol License, or continuing your firearms education, Dakota is dedicated to helping you train with purpose and confidence.
